We are currently recruiting for our Passengers Division at our sites in Germany: Bautzen, Goerlitz & Hennigsdorf and UK: Derby: Vehicle Architects Railway (m/w) Main tasks: •Specification and concept design of the vehicle system solutions to meet the performance, functions and features of the contract and legal requirements •Identification and specification of specialist engineering requirements and concepts •Identification and detailed specification of train level validation tests •Vehicle functional (electrical) performance and systems integration regarding: The service operation, - The operating interfaces, - The service operating environment •Interpretation of the customers or train technical requirements into clear vehicle requirements specification; this is to be used as a tool to convey the key requirements and design information to the project team and system suppliers •Interpretation of vehicle and system requirement specification; clarifying conflicts, anomalies and incomplete requirements •Derive and document vehicle performance, function and feature design requirements •Specify system and inter-system interface requirements •Assessment of the technical and financial risks; good appreciation as to whether the requirements are both feasible and practical and also an appreciation of the costs involved •Translate information into useable documents and have a good understanding of which system level boundaries need to be brought together to integrate the system or design into the train •Communicate design information to the customer, project team and system suppliers •The scope shall include: Vehicle and system functionality, performance, integration and interfaces e.g. Propulsion, HV, MV, LV generation control and distribution, train control system (inc driving and auxiliary controls and the associated TCMS concept and solution), Internal and external lighting, Inter-vehicle electrical jumpers, vehicle systems, software management Qualifications •Degree in electrical engineering •Minimum of 5 years of work experience •Knowledge of vehicle systems engineering within the scope of responsibilities •Engineering team management experience •Very good German and English knowledge in speech and writing •Independent, systematic, objective and cost and quality-conscious work ethics •Highly motivated, self-initiative, flexibility and teamwork capabilities, very good communication skills
