Job Description
THE COMPANY An exciting opportunity has arisen within a leading train operating company (TOC) who require an experienced Traincrew Operations Manager in their Operations and Safety function. This person will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of people critical to the operation of a safe, reliable and punctual service on the West Coast. THE ROLE This Traincrew Operations Manager will be: - Inspiring, leading and motivating a team of over 400 colleagues comprising of drivers, conductors, and traincrew managers - Ensuring the safe, reliable and punctual delivery of train services in an efficient manner - Providing exemplary leadership in developing and coaching your team - Contributing to the development and delivery of strategic plans - Accountabilities will include: - Improving train service performance - Operational and occupational safety compliance - Delivery of financial budgets THE PERSON The successful Traincrew Operations Manager must have: - The ability to interact with people at all levels both individually and through the formal conduct of consultations and negotiations with trade unions and employee representatives - A proven track record in managing service delivery and improving performance within a complex Railway, Transport or Logistics environment (eg. Marine, airline, aerospace, military, haulage or shipping industries) - Able to challenge current processes and build new ways of working where appropriate - Worked constructively with a range of external stakeholders to deliver results through partnerships and effective team working THE BENEFITS The successful applicant would be joining a leading Train Operating Company who employ in excess of 4000 people.
