Your Role

You will be involved in the design and delivery of Train Control and Management Systems (TCMS) for new trains. You will develop the train control philosophies, define the hardware architectures and software requirements, design, implement and test the software, commission the control system on the trains post manufacture and investigate and determine solutions for any problems found in use. You will interface with suppliers and assess system capabilities, set requirements for suppliers and provide support to them through the design process.

You will be required to support the decisions for release of deliverables from the department to internal and external customers as applicable to your areas of responsibility.

Some travel to other Bombardier sites and to suppliers premises will be required, mostly in Europe and North America.

Your Challenges
You will develop the train control concept for the bids and delivery projects through analysis of the stakeholder requirements and interaction with the wider systems engineering teams, taking into account the capabilities of the TCMS product and the viability of implementing requested functions in the software domain.
You will also develop the TCMS hardware and software architectures and define the software requirements which are to be achieved in order to deliver the train level control concept.
You will carry out the software development life-cycle (design, implementation, testing and maintenance) to deliver the software for release to the projects.
