Brief Vacancy Description You will use your expertise as a Site Manager to provide support to Project Managers; assisting from the initial planning stages and ensuring that the building blocks for each of the projects are firmly set in place. The Site Managers position on South Thames will provide support to major resignalling programmes including East Kent Resignalling and Thameslink Key Output 2 resignalling works at London Bridge. The South Thames team are based in Carolyn House Croydon but cover all major signalling projects in Sussex Wessex and Kent, with site offices established at Sittingbourne and Basingstoke. Detailed External Job Description Using your expertise as a Site Manager you will respond to technical queries, review method statements and maintain site records during all site inspections. Your strong relationship building and interpersonal skills will help you to communicate with Network Rail’s project managers, project engineers, quality surveyors, safety specialists and external contractors. Your understanding of health and safety and construction within the railway will provide you with the confidence to assist the project team. Understanding the commercial issues that are involved in delivering a project will help you seek and identify areas of continuous improvement and proactive safety initiatives. Do you have….? · Outstanding construction experience in the railway industry? · A thorough understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental issues relating to construction? CSCS/CITB scheme/NEBOSH certification? Are you….? · Able to manage a principal contractor and their subcontractors? · Highly dependable in your outlook? · Outstanding at communicating and presenting? Confident in developing strong relationship internally and externally? Dynamic and highly customer focused? Motivated and inspired by our rail infrastructure?
