To support our development, we are looking for a:

SENIOR NETWORK ANALYST
Reports to: Manager, Information Technology
Based in Toronto

The Information Systems and Network Design team is responsible for the successful delivery of Active Directory, Unix, VM Ware, LAN / WAN and desktop services to Thales Rail Signalling Solutions (TRSSI).

The successful incumbent will provide administration of Windows server and network systems resources to ensure availability, capacity, recovery, and ensure functional capability needs are adequately addressed.

Your main responsibilities are:

Ø Responsible for ensuring all server and network system production resources are at their optimal levels for performance and availability through proactive management of the environment and if required instigate appropriate action to maintain these service levels.
Ø Champion service restoration through proper prioritization and escalation to appropriate 3rd party vendor and or internal Tier 3 support groups.
Ø Provide 7/24 On-Call support for server and network related service incidents and follow internal management escalation procedures when necessary.
Ø Ensure that all systems meet Thales security standards and escalate violations through appropriate internal processes.
Ø Define and review Operation Acceptance Tests and procedures and facilitate migration of the new / modified server and network based services into the production environment.
Ø Develop and conduct skills transfer processes through individual and team training and procedures.
Ø Weekly preparation of Systems and Network service availability report for department.
Ø Monitoring of customer Service Level Agreements, with respect to availability.
Ø Maintain service level of systems and network by proactive monitoring and performing maintenance of the production environment.

Ø Define the Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) for the environment.
Ø Excellent customer service skills to ensure interaction between IS & ND and the Thales user base is handled in a customer friendly manner.
Ø Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ø Takes a proactive approach to staying informed about industry knowledge.
Ø Provide technical direction and assistance to junior staff members.
Ø Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports to the Group Leader.

Ideally you have:

Ø University degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Ø A minimum of 4-6 years of Windows server and or network related experience
Ø Excellent & demonstrated interpersonal & leadership skills
Ø Openness and availability to provide 7/24 on -call support
Ø Strong knowledge in computer systems architecture (primarily HP and IBM server platforms), and experienced with configuration, support and maintenance.
Ø Strong knowledge in administering operating systems and applications, i.e. Windows, Microsoft Exchange, VM Ware, Lotus Notes & etc
Ø Excellent oral & written communication skills, people skills, planning, implementation and troubleshooting skills.
Ø An understanding of budgeting and general financial are desirable.
