Department & how it relates to the role

As an engineer, you will be inspired by designing and building the infrastructure of the future. To help fulfil our vision for the Railway Engineering of 2030, we need to capture your talents and skills developing the biggest sustained period of rail investment for over 100 years. The role of the Senior Maintenance Support Engineer is to provide a comprehensive engineering support service for Plant and Distribution aspects of the Electrification & Plant portfolio to Infrastructure Maintenance.

About the role (External)

As an experienced engineer, you will provide engineering input and support for Distribution and Plant in accordance with company policies, standards and specifications. You will provide briefings to engineers to ensure that contents are understood and improve the technical competence of engineers. Your experience will enable you to recommend applications to related standards on derogation and non-compliance and monitor progression of potential improvements to related standards. An ability to advise and guide the engineers in renewals proposals and provide engineering input is required to implement the maintenance audit programme. The successful candidate will monitor and analyse the quality and performance of related assets in specified locations and instigate corrective action as required.
