Job Description
Job Description Our client is looking for and experienced Lifts & Escalator Engineer. The successful candidate will be working on LUL assets and will be determining and understanding failures of mechanical components and assemblies in the L&E environment and designing solutions using Microstation. The 4 projects to be completed are; 1. Redesign of escalator balustrade panels so that the worn sections can be replaced without removing the whole assembly 2. Design review of escalator step wheels in order to select bearings that will increase step life in line with chain life 3. Review and approval of access improvement designs and produce cost based solutions and business case to support investment 4. Understanding the design tolerance for installation of escalator newel wheel handrail drives and amending installation drawings You will be working largely unsupervised for long periods including site work during night shifts and you must determine your own delivery schedules and deliver on time and to agreed cost. You will most likely be HND or degree qualified in a mechanical discipline and have proven experience of understanding failures and delivering design solutions. Experience of working in an L&E environment is essential and previous experience of working on LUL escalators is highly desirable.
