The e-Business Service Centre is responsible for the support and development of the Oracle business suite within Network Rail. The Service Centre is part of Support Services within Information Management which is responsible for the support of all software used by Network Rail.

The e-Business Solutions Centre Team are responsible for the maintenance and development of the Oracle e-Business suite across Network Rail. There are over 20,000 internal users and the largest set of applications of any Oracle user in Europe.

This is a Functional Application Support role and will suit candidates with a broad Oracle knowledge, but including HR\recruitment\competencies and OLM etc.

Brief Vacancy Description

Senior Application Support Analysts provide a second level of support to users and other parts of Information Management. In this role you will be part of the team of application experts for the e-Business Suite within Network Rail. You will work with the other members of the application support team in the day to day use and development of the system.

Detailed External Job Description

Provide support for designated applications within Network Rail.

Manage minor development of applications and related products to meet user requirements and strategic objectives.

Develop metrics relating to use of the above modules of the system to guide training needs and system development.

Maintain problem information in the call tracking system, liaising where appropriate with the Problem Management Team and the IT Helpdesk.
Identify and implement an appropriate resolution plan and escalate where necessary to the Customer Relationship team.

Prepare and submit requests for change deployment to change control. Manage the implementation process for new releases of supported applications.
Identify, prepare and test an appropriate resolution.

Essential

· Significant experience in support, development and testing of Oracle applications – specifically including recent experience of at least two of - Core HR & Payroll, HR Self-service and recruitment
· Application knowledge and experience in amending the Oracle vanilla product to company requirements
· Experience of change management
· Good analytical, organisational and team work skills
· Experience of working in a multi-skilled team in a customer focussed environment

Desirable

· Wide experience of Oracle Applications in the e-business suite including competencies/OLM
· Sound understanding of the key business processes for the area of expertise
· Knowledge of configuration management
· Sql knowledge for issue resolution
· Workflow knowledge
· Project management skills
