We are looking for Sales and Marketing Manager for our Passengers, facility based in Derby

Your Role

The key responsibility of this role is to understand, analyse and report on the market and its developments to ensure product development moves in the correct direction to meet the markets needs and that internal stakeholders and senior management are kept aligned with market movement and Sales activities.

An additional element of the role will be to, where possible, establish and develop a relationship both internally and with designated customers which will identify profitable sales opportunities. Once opportunities are identified, the Sales & Marketing Manager will need to work closely with the Bid Team and relevant internal BT functions to develop a winning offer to meet the clients needs whilst delivering acceptable returns to the business. The Sales & Marketing Manager will support the Sales Director in negotiating and closing opportunities.

Your Challenges

· Support the sales process and team in the preparation of bids and sales data. The job-holder will assist across all aspects of the sales process and tendering. Form strong working relationships with all relevant functions involved in the bid process and work with Bid Management to ensure that proposals are completed in an efficient, professional and competitive manner. Construct marketing information and presentations to be presented to internal & external clients and partners and to be used by the sales team

· Establish key relationships with external customers and present proposals and marketing information

· Contribute actively to the UK Sales network, sharing information and insights with colleagues in other Divisions and integrating customer intelligence to present the most effective and profitable value propositions to our customers

· Work with sales team to ensure targets are being met and to help develop the UK sales strategy. Develop and continually review the customers business model and the factors influencing spend decisions through personal interaction and insights into customer needs

· Work alongside Product Development to create the correct concept designs to meet the future market requirements, ensuring BT stays at the forefront of product development

Qualifications

Your Experience and Qualifications

· Ideally you will be qualified to degree level or equivalent
· You will have extensive knowledge of engineering, product development or customer and market interaction which you will have ideally gained in the rail industry
· You will have good knowledge of rail industry and the business case behind the introduction of new trains
· You will be a strong team player with the ability to work under pressure and to very tight timescales
· You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills which you will use to interact with internal and external customers at all levels
· You will have the required skills to built strong positive relationships across the orgainsation
· You will have basic knowledge of relevant rolling stock fleets, including a basic technical understanding of the features of different vehicle types
· Knowledge and understanding of BT internal processes would be an advantage
