Job Description
Job Description: SM objectives include reviewing that the construction contractor’s Site Specific Work Plans (SSWP) are OSHA compliant and in conformance with railroad safety requirements. SM must also successfully complete the required training to in-turn provide Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) training to contractor personnel working within the railroad right-of-way, as mandated by the FRA. SM must also provide on site verification that the contractor’s work is OSHA and FRA compliant, and must conduct and/or participate in regularly scheduled safety meetings. SM must be proactive and alert the resident engineer to safety issues that may come up in the field and oversee enforcement of mitigation measures put in place to resolve those issues. SM must be able to document observations, investigations and incident reports. EOE M/F/D/V
