Role Overview

As a Regional HSE Manager the successful candidate will provide HSE advice and guidance to each of the individual Business Units within Jacobs Infrastructure to support the achievement of local, regional and global HSE targets in line with our Beyond Zero culture. In this role the successful candidate will take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm, and for developing strategies that drive performance and support continuous improvement.

Supporting the Senior HSE Manager and VP Operations responsibilities include:

· Coach, guide and advise senior operations partners in HSE
· Tailor, development and deliver line of business specific training
· Provision of Strategic HSE advice to Business Units throughout project life cycle
· Develop pertinent and relevant Business Unit specific continuous improvement plans and assist in monitoring their achievement
· Devise and manage a monitoring schedule that reflects Jacobs and OSHAS 18001 requirements and provides corporate governance throughout project life cycles
· Assist in defining and managing interfaces and relationships with the business, participating in meetings and visiting office and field locations as appropriate
· Maximise the boundaryless use of HSE resources across geographies, lines of business and regions
· Constructively share positive highlights and opportunities for improvement within and across the business
· Support strategies for developing the HSE team, including career development, succession planning and scheduled timely performance appraisals
· As appropriate network with industry associations, companies, safety professionals and regulatory bodies. Benchmark against industry and company standards.
· Participate and engage with Jacobs bid/proposal process.
· Participate, engage and develop Jacobs Beyond Zero initiatives.

Knowledge Requirements

· Jacobs HSE policies, procedures and management system
· Knowledge of HSE tools, processes, and systems including OHSAS18001
· Auditing processes and protocols
· Leading and Trailing Indicator Measurements
· HSE Legislation and Regulations
· Corporate incident reporting requirements and accident investigation techniques
· Subcontractor prequalification process
· Knowledge of sales processes
· Knowledge of CDM and how it applies practically to duty holders

Degree/Educational Requirements

· Degree – bachelor degree in safety or other related field will be preferred. Alternatively you will have advanced technical training in a related field, or equivalent education and experience
· CMIOSH or similar accreditation to a professional H&S body
· Lead auditor training would be advantageous

Experience Required

· Experience in an HSE managerial/leadership position or similar experience
· Experience developing/using HSE Management Systems and processes
· Experience in implementing HSE requirements on relevant construction projects
· Experience of CDM and its practical application on construction projects
· Experience of working within an infrastructure environment including at least of the following – Rail, Environment, Utilities, Highways.
