Job Description

Within this major infrastructure project that is about to go full steam ahead, our client who is a leading international construction delivery partner is urgently seeking to recruit a Quality Manager for the train stations that will be in constructed and refurbished for the up and coming project.

THE PRIMARY DERIVATIVES OF THE QUALITY MANAGER.

Responsible for managing a large project or multiple small/medium or medium/large projects. Establishes and maintains contacts with engineering, procurement, construction, project management, administrative services, test, operations, decommissioning, other organizations, client quality assurance management and regulatory agencies as required to fulfil quality commitments on assigned projects.

POSITION DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (Not all but some):

• Reports to the Delivery Director Stations and functionally to the Quality Director.
• Demonstrates the achievement of quality objectives and targets.
• Develops the existing Quality Management System as necessary with additional procedures/instructions for station-specific aspects.
• Establishes and maintains contacts with contract administration, engineering, procurement.
• Coordinates a team of Quality Engineers monitoring all activities within both PDP and the contractors organisation to ensure robust systems are in place for self certification and delivery of the Stations in accordance with, particularly, the Works Information.
• Monitors the provision by contractors of design and construction certification packages.
• Reviews and develops roles & responsibilities for Stations Quality Engineers.
• Develops and recommends staffing levels for Stations quality personnel to achieve quality objectives and targets.
• Develops KPIs and ensures consistency in reporting across Stations contracts.
• Prepares periodic reports for review by the SQM on the effectiveness of the Quality Management System and the impact of any project scope changes affecting quality.
• Provides induction and training of quality staff and ensures that quality training continues on project.

OTHER REMARKS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• The successful Quality Manager will have a high level of relevant experience in a senior quality role and comparable rail projects.
• Experience in leading internal and external quality audits.
• Experienced in the development and review of quality plans, procedures & instructions.
• Chartered Engineer or BSc/HNC in Engineering.
