We are looking for a Project Portfolio Manager for our Propulsion & Controls Division (PPC).

This role is to be based in Derby liaising with the Passengers (PGR) division but reporting to Sweden and the PPC division there. The role will be directly reporting to the PPC Project Director for RS1 (PGR Derby) and indirectly/supporting the Project Manager for the respective project within RS1 including PPC scope.

The main purpose of this role and its main objectives are listed below:
•To capture on site issues and feed forward into Vasteras PPC organization.
•Following up on raised issues, i.e. monitoring issues in relation to estimated close out date liaising with the Västerås site
•Take on specific tasks that can be run directly from the Derby site, for example involving our PI or retrofit team with an on site location
•Proactively make sure that our customers (i.e. the Project Manager for the respective project in PGR) feel that they have adequate support and that the Project manager is able to feedback to Sweden in a timely manner as well as providing feedback on current projects
•Capture process issues that currently are not running efficiently i.e. if there are systematic problems occurring within the project portfolio, we need to capture these, analyze them, then first within PPC and then together with PGR improve applicable working processes etc. in order to provide an effective solution.
•The role will support PPC Project Managers by attending project meetings in Derby, both together with but also without the PPC Project Manager, as it applies.
Key Accountabilities:
•To deliver project commitments according to existing contract, especially focus on cooperation, process and quality problems
•Follow PRO directives for processes and especially focus on Risk & Opportunities, analyses and mitigation planning

There will be other accountabilities which will become more evident as the role evolves and progresses.


Qualifications

Your Experience and Qualifications
•Capability to lead in a matrix organization
•Experience/knowledge of managing large and complex projects
•Knowledge in leadership-, communication- and negotiation techniques
•Experience of working in UK culture (preferably the Derby site)
•Experience from Railway industry
•Knowledge of the PPC products (positive but can be gained within the scope of the role)
•Knowledge about process and continues improvements work
•Customer and Business Objectives driven.
