Brief Vacancy Description

Signalling, Power and Communications (SP&C) is responsible for the delivery of renewals of Signalling, Telecoms, Electrification and Plant. The team also is responsible for the national European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) programme on behalf of the rail industry. Investments on signalling asset renewals alone are planned at over £500m per year over the next 10 years. Your role as a Principal Project Planner within SP&C will be delivery focused as you will be supporting and providing solutions for the Project Managers working on highly complex programmes of work with tight deadlines.

Detailed External Job Description

As an experienced Project Planner you will be responsible for regular updating and monitoring programmes for a large portfolio of work You will have a detailed knowledge of Primavera P3e and an understanding of the wider Project Management Framework.

A strong knowledge of earned value management and milestone and KPI reporting will also help you to keep control of the variety of projects ensuring that they are delivered to the high standard expected.

It’s not necessary for you to have rail industry experience. In fact, what will set you apart is your motivation and natural flair for dealing with people at all levels.

· Extensive experience in working with P3e?
· Experience in management, planning or delivery of major construction and engineering projects?
· A working knowledge of investment programme and project controls processes and systems?
· Able to manage data in a proficient and competent manner?
