The Building & Bivils Programme Controls function co-ordinates the programme planning, project governance and monthly reporting for the Building & Civils Programme Management teams based around the country. The Building & Civils asset, covers both the Civils and Building Renewals teams and the major re-development project for Birmingham New Street and Kings Cross Redevelopment. Brief Vacancy Description Using your expertise in project planning you will work closely with programme and project managers by developing a project work breakdown structure so projects can be monitored efficiently and professionally. The project planner vacancy is to provide specific project planning support to the South East Civils renewals team based in Waterloo and Crawley (Three Bridges). The role involves the creation of project plans in P3e and the updating and maintaining project progress and changes on a monthly basis. The role involves the management a portfolio of projects covering Civils related works such as bridges and earthworks and reviewing progress as reported on a monthly basis through contractor plans. The role also provides support to the territory Programme Controls Manager in terms of monthly reporting. Experience in the use of P3e as a planning tool is desirable. Detailed External Job Description As an experienced Project Planner you will be responsible for monitoring programmes and regular updates for a large portfolio of complex work projects. You will have a detailed knowledge of Primavera P3e and an understanding of the wider Project Management Framework. A strong knowledge of earned value management and milestone and KPI reporting will also help you to keep control of the variety of projects, ensuring that they are delivered to the high standard expected. It’s not necessary for you to have rail industry experience. In fact, what will set you apart is your motivation and natural flair for dealing with people at all levels.
