Job Description
My client is a national contractor who deliver project managed solutions through Rail, Energy and Engineering business streams.

Due to continued growth they require a Project Manager to work on Network Rail Projects in the Redhill area.

Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure successful framework delivery and maximisation of margins through the delivery of works orders in a safe manner, on time, within budget and to the agreed level of quality.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
The key tasks of this role include:
o Involvement/input in projects at all stages from pre-qualifying and tendering through to completion.
o Fulfilling the Project/Contract Managers responsibilities.
o Ensuring that the site team are fully apprised of the contract parameters and have the capability and
resources necessary to achieve contract objectives.
o The development of positive relationships with all parties associated with the contract.
o Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of:
o All applicable legislation
o The Terms and Conditions of the contract
o The Contract Health and Safety Plan
o The Contract Quality/Environmental Plan
o The Policies and Procedures contained within the Company Business Management System
o Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.
o Acting as Contractors Responsible Engineer in accordance with Network Rail standards including
management of submission of Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets to the highest possible
quality.
o Control and management of sub contract resources to the highest levels of safety, quality and efficiency.
o The promotion of a continuous improvement culture and the use of best practice.
o The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
o Ensuring that, in conjunction with the Project Delivery Team, changes to the contract are identified, agreed
and effectively managed.
o The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Framework Manager.
o Ensuring that all relevant issues, which cannot be resolved at contract level, are passed for the attention of the Contracts Director.
o To proactively promote the Company and its capabilities to clients.
To identify business development opportunities and ensure that any such opportunity is communicated to
the appropriate Business Development Executive/Director.

Person Specification
Candidates for this role must have experience of successfully leading a project delivery team and should meet the following criteria:

o Must possess experience of successfully delivering civil engineering projects including structures and
bridges.
o Must have significant exposure to Design and Construct activities.
o Experience of Rail is essential.
o IT Literate, particularly Microsoft Office Applications.
o Should have a reasonably stable employment background (i.e. no job hoppers).

Educational/Professional
Qualifications:
BSc or compensating experience.
CSCS Requirements: Minimum Site Manager (Platinum)
H&S Requirements:
Five Day Site Managers Safety Training Scheme or acceptable alternative
(e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate).
