Job Description

Role;

- Working in conjunction with the Contracts Manager, that Project Delivery is maintained in line with the contract.
- Project capability and resources are available and provisions made accordingly to meet contract/project targets.
- Liaising with clients representatives to ensure client requirements are clearly understood.
- Identifying all potential contract variations for potential commercial issues and client notification in order to identify any corrective measures.
- Managing and coordinating all activities on assigned contracts and accurately reporting performance, contractual status and the anticipated/actual commercial position for inclusion in various monthly reports.
- The development of positive relationships with all parties associated with the contract.
- The contract is delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed quality.
- Company profit on the contract is maximised.
- That client expectations regarding, quality, programme and budget are, wherever possible, exceeded.
- The creation and maintenance of a positive company image.

Person:

The ideal Candidate is an experienced Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineer who has successfully led engineering construction project delivery teams. A thorough knowledge of their own discipline must be demonstrated and substantial experience of work within the other two disciplines is also required to a level that will allow the Candidate to successfully manage and deliver a multidisciplined
project.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

- Extensive experience of successfully delivering engineering construction projects ranging from £250K - £5m.
- The erection, installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical plant & equipment
- The power distribution or generation industry
- General civils and minor building works
- Commercially aware with knowledge of the relevant Forms of Contract
- Recent exposure to projects involving National Grid would also be an advantage.
- Exposure to Design activities is essential.

Must Have:

- ENGINEERING BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE RAIL/Civil Infrastructure.
- Qualified to degree level / within Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience of Design & Build projects.
- Civil Engineering and/or Rail sector experience.
- PTS.
- Five Day Site Managers Safety Training Scheme, or alternative;
(e.g. CCNSG Safety Passport, NEBOSH General Certificate).
