Brief Vacancy Description

Electrification Plant Engineer with experience of fixed plant and distribution systems required to act as project engineer for projects being delivered under the new Asset Management organisation with Western area.

Detailed External Job Description

Engineer required to undertake review of outline and detail electrical designs for engineering correctness and compliance to Railway group standards, Network Rail company standards and legislation. Provide assistance in preparation of specifications and assist with development and maintenance of quality systems throughout the lifecycle of projects.

Your expertise as a Project Engineer will enable you to implement Network Rail systems and procedures to maintain a cost effective, high quality, safe and environmentally responsible approach to relevant projects. Your experience will enable you to liaise with regulators and others as appropriate. A key part of this role will be to monitor specific projects managed by Infrastructure Investment so that they are engineered to the standards and specification of Network Rail. You must have an ability to manage all engineering activities so that they result in schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

The successful candidate will monitor design and specialist consultants and contractors, providing project management advice in respect of all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision. You will have the ability to manage elements of relevant projects to meet the requirements of current legislation, including construction design management regulations. An ability to arrange an audit of contractors will be required to monitor safety, environment and quality of design, construction and testing.

Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent GNVQ level?
