We are looking for Project Engineer Software & Electronics Projects for our Baton Under Needwood - Burton on Trent facility

Your Role

You will be part of a Project Engineering team where you will deliver technical solutions for the Voyager (and Meridian) fleets maintained by Bombardier. The role of the Project Engineer is to understand key train system performance and cost drivers, managing activities from problem identification, through root cause analysis to development of as solution for implementation into the Business. Technical solutions typically extend to addressing vehicle design and maintenance issues, and also vehicle maintenance instruction anomalies.
This role will focus specifically on electrical, electronic and software systems management.

Your Challenges
· You will have a good technical understanding of rolling stock systems, and also project management expertise.
· Analysis of allocated system/sub system performance and development of prioritised action lists.
· Project Management of identified technical improvement initiatives.
· Technical problem solving on key initiatives required to deliver/improve system performance relative to cost.
· Representing the Voyager Project at key Customer/Supplier facing and inter departmental meetings.

Qualifications

Your Experience and Qualifications
You will ideally have an Engineering Degree or equivalent
You will be Charted Member or willing to work towards Professional Chartership
Detailed knowledge of Project Management and best practice
Appreciation of engineering systems
Understanding of Fleet Maintenance
Familiar with group standards
Excellent communication skills.
Must be familiar with system design process and well versed in probability, statistics, and modeling techniques.
Able to work in a challenging customer service environment
Able to work with internal and external customers / suppliers at all levels
