PRINCIPAL PROJECT MANAGER

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage a portfolio of opportunities and pursuits
- Project manage a portfolio of rail projects
- Develop and maintain a project pipeline strategy for the Queensland rail capability
- Perform the role of Bid Manager when required, for proposal development for the Queensland Rail team
- Assist in the identification and provision of project process improvement and training when required
- Provide input for Business Unit documents, including proposals, project reports, studies and internal procedures
- Maintain an oversight of project document control and ensure that the relevant business QA procedures are followed
- Provide principal level resource capability for QueenslandRail/QR National project work
- Provide mentorship for other project managers
- Manage the day to day utilisation of the Queensland project management resource
- Assist with the development of the PB rail team in Brisbane

Technial Skills:

- 15+ years in project management and project engineering.
- Currently active in the management of projects in a rail context, with at least 5 years railway experience

Must have Principles Level experience in:

- Signalling scheme development
- Design, checking and verification/signoff approval of relay interlocking circuits
- Design, checking and verification/signoff approval of either Westlock or Microlok circuits
- Design and detailed checking of control tables
- Management of a design team

Should have:

- At least 5yrs working within an operating railway organisation
- Recent experience in a consulting or contracting organization
- Microlok and/or Westlock data checking experience
- Project experience that includes major signalling scheme cost estimation
- Experience in the development and/or application of ATP and in-cab signalling
- Expert status in one or more specific technologies or signalling applications

Qualifications:

Must have:

- A recognised tertiary level qualification in engineering or management
- Membership, or eligibility for membership of IAustE or PMI

- Ability to balance quality and timely delivery in all aspects of work
