Job Description

Department & how it relates to the role

Practice Manager to support New Entrants Programme – including Graduates, Industrial Placements, MSc Students, Work Placements, etc; Support the robust university engagement, marketing and recruitment, selection and on boarding of this populace. WIll provide leadership & line management and facilitate capability development to all members of the New Entrants Programme.

The successful candidate will be required to :

1. Develop, manage and implement training and development plans for Practice members, managing the training budget accordingly.

2. Promote best practice in their community of practice and develops technical learning and career paths.

3. Work with HR to support IM recruitment, succession planning, talent management and provide IM specific induction and orientation to new employees. Provide or facilitates coaching and mentoring of practice members.

4. Manage formal grievance, poor performance, disciplinary and managing for health matters to resolution with HR and the Assignment Manager.

5. Manage Pan-IM people related Q12 action planning as identified by assignment or line management.

6. Provide governance for people related processes undertaken by Line Management in conjunction with HR, such as Performance Management, in the associated location and/or functional area. Provides best practice direction and audits for adherence.

7. Drive appropriate assignment changes in discussion with assignment management in support of talent management and/or career development planning.

8. Hold profession-based meetings in line with the professional development of staff.

Do you have..?

· Must be enthusiastic and have excellent organisational skills
· Excellent people management skills.
· Very good engagement and stakeholder management skills
· Very good interpersonal skills including effective written and verbal communication.
· Demonstrable experience of providing leadership and/or management in an IT discipline or environment.
· Experience of IT environments >500 staff.
