Job Description
Department & how it relates to the role Planning & Regulation (P&R) ensures proper alignment of Network Rail’s planning processes with its regulatory requirements. P&R is responsible for ensuring that the company understands the regulatory framework, is compliant with all the regulatory obligations (excluding safety) and develops robust, deliverable and consistent business plans that reflect our corporate goals. Its key objectives are to improve business planning and ensure effective regulatory management. About the role (External) Network Rail currently has a vacancy for a Network Planner, reporting to the Principal Network Planner (National). You will assist in the development of national plans for the network. The work will be wide ranging including responsibility for developing strategies for addressing congestion in stations, future rolling stock on the network and accommodating anticipated growth and the changing nature of rail freight. Your key responsibilities will include the following: - assistance developing in key elements of the network rus e.g. development of station strategy, rolling stock strategy -assistance in further planning of the Strategic Freight Network -provide analytical support, assist in drafting documents and liaison with key stakeholders
