Department & how it relates to the role

Network Rail’s Competence and Training organisation delivers an effective competence and development service in order to continuously improve employee safety, performance, engagement and esteem. Competence and Training strives to capture the routine business and forward plan emerging requirements to ensure Network Rail meets its operational requirements and workforce development remit, deliver the training needed to meet Network Rails Competency Framework Requirements, and invest in our people and resources to ensure quality is inherent from the start in our service and products.

About the role (External)

As the Materials and Systems Project Manager for the Competence & Training department, you will manage the review and production of training and assessment solutions. You will create and maintain accurate records of all existing solutions and use this information to lead specialist working groups through the design and analysis phases of Instructional System Design (ISD).

Do you have…..?

· Experience of working on successful training and development projects?
· The ability to manage project work encompassing information gathering and research?
· An understanding of the legislative requirements for the management of competence and occupational health and safety?

Are you…..?

· A creative thinker, able to identify new solutions to address identified learning objectives?
· Skilled at influencing and obtaining information from stakeholders at all levels of the organisation – from senior managers to technical ‘subject matter experts’?
· Able to review the effectiveness of a project cycle and identify opportunities to improve in future projects?
