Department & how it relates to the role

Network Rail’s Competence and Training organisation delivers an effective competence and development service in order to continuously improve safety, performance, engagement and esteem. Competence and Training strives to capture the routine business and forward plan emerging requirements to ensure Network Rail meets its operational requirements and workforce development remit, deliver the training needed to meet Network Rails Competency Framework Requirements, and invest in our people and resources to ensure quality is inherent from the start in our service and products.

About the role (External)

We are looking for an experienced Digital Designer to join as a Materials and Systems Development Specialist. Based within the Competence and Training organisation, you will use your digital expertise to produce high quality graphics, animations and emulations to be used as part of our blended learning and assessment materials. Using a variety of graphic and digital design tools, these materials will constitute a wide variety of medias, including animations, web-based e-learning materials, diagrams, drawings and lesson plans.

Performing appropriate subject and task analysis, you will develop objectives, lesson plans, storyboards and test banks as well as prepare scripts and wireframes in order to develop high quality training materials that utilise suitable media to encourage delegate interactivity.

Do you have…..?

* Expertise in using relevant graphic design software such as Publisher, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Autodesk 3ds Max and a variety of e-Learning and Rapid e-Learning software such as Captivate and/or Articulate?
* Knowledge and experience of Instructional Design and Instructional Technology concepts and principles?
* Excellent project and time management skills to lead work groups and project teams?

Are you…..?

* Highly proficient in MS office and Adobe design software?
* Able to engage and draw information from subject matter experts to agree design specifications and technical requirements?
* Highly detail conscious to ensure Network Rail branding, design and technical guidelines are consistently applied?
