Job Description
Department & how it relates to the role Network Rail’s Competence and Training organisation delivers an effective competence and development service in order to continuously improve safety, performance, engagement and esteem. Competence and Training strives to capture the routine business and forward plan emerging requirements to ensure Network Rail meets its operational requirements and workforce development remit, deliver the training needed to meet Network Rails Competency Framework Requirements, and invest in our people and resources to ensure quality is inherent from the start in our service and products. About the role (External) As Materials and Systems Configuration Assistant, your role will be to implement data management and configuration programmes to maintain the integrity of training and assessment systems and materials. Key Accountabilities 1. Provide system advice and support to C&T customers or stakeholders to promote consistent and complete use of the Oracle OLM and Competence module functionality 2. Update training and competence recording system interfaces and interfaces between NR and 3rd party systems to reflect additions, amendments and deletions to the competence management system. 3. Develop and execute periodic reports to monitor data on supporting training and competence IM systems and undertake corrective action where data inconsistencies are found. 4. Manage the distribution of training and assessment documentation and maintain document control records. 5. Communicate system updates and amendments to affected parties, responding to enquiries relating to IM system data configuration 6. Work with competence framework owners and training planners to promote consistent naming and coding conventions, preventing duplication and any other data issues. 7. Support the Materials & Systems Configuration Manager in the delivering system related improvement projects as required Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications Essential · Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of other Microsoft office software · Experience of working with databases and IM systems · Excellent attention to detail · Quality driven approach to working · Able to take initiative, identify problems and propose solutions Desirable · Experienced user of the competence and training modules of the NR Business suite
