Job Description

POSITION: Manager Material Control DEPARTMENT: Procurement & Materials Management LOCATION: Bear, DE SALARY: USD 53,000 - USD 70,000 POSITION NO.: 90107151 INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL APPLICANTS DUTIES: Manages the material control operation in Bear, DE. Responsible for supervising the receiving, storing, issuing and distribution of all direct and indirect materials used in the repair and direct support of the maintenance of rolling stock equipment as well as the Amtrak system. Responsible for administrating and reconciling the cycle program, reviewing and monitoring inventory levels for various programs and maintenance materials. EDUCATION: Must have Bachelors Degree in Business or related area or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. EXPERIENCE: Must have proven demonstrated experience in materials management, warehouse inventory control, planning and distribution environment. Prefer extensive experience in scheduling production control in a heavy repair and turn around railroad maintenance facility. Prefer prior supervisory experience. Must have satisfactory prior job performance. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proven working knowledge of Amtraks AAMPS and ASAP systems and managerial experience. Strong working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures including safety, material management and DOT (CFR49) requirements. COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Strong oral and written skills. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises 16 non-agreement personnel TRAVEL: 5% AMTRAK EMPLOYEES MUST COMPLETE A JOB OPPORTUNITY APPLICATION TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION.
