Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: Manages the implementation of power distribution on an assigned shift to maintain maximum utilization of locomotives, fuel, and operating personnel at minimum cost. Manages the flow of engines into and out of repair shops. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Formal Education: * High school degree or equivalent Experience: * 1 year of railroad experience * Logistics experience preferred Skills: * Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products * Strong verbal and written communication skills JOB DUTIES: * Creates daily manifests of inbound and outbound locomotives at all terminals and communicates to Dispatch * Coordinates locomotive repair shop releases with the Mechanical department * Analyzes schedules and logistics and assigns locomotives for outbound manifests through the next day * Facilitates daily planning calls to provide instructions on engine movement to terminals * Issues final inbound and outbound lineup documentation and communicates to appropriate parties * Monitors locomotives not moved in 12 hours, researches causes, and implements solutions * Communicates any online issues or escalations to the Corridor Management and Mechanical departments for resolution * Prepares and distributes daily summary communication through a bucket line * Coordinates resource sharing with foreign line carriers * May pull and compile data for multiple reports and present to appropriate departments The duties, responsibilities and qualifications in this posting are representative categories to be used by an applicant in deciding whether to apply for the position.
