Job Summary:
Supervises and ensures vendor compliance with maintaining maximum availability of lift equipment, hostler trucks, and commercial vehicles that support Intermodal terminal operations, which includes 100 various types of lift machines, 102 hostler trucks, and 50-60 commercial vehicles at 34 locations. Maintains detailed information on maintenance and repairs as a vital responsibility of this position enabling life cycle decision making on equipment acquisition and repair and ensuring vendors are paid via existing contractual specification. Provides leadership and guidance to maintenance vendors on submission and payment of invoices and accountability for achieving safety goals. Focuses on process improvement and vendor relations that minimize maintenance expenses for lift equipment and company owned or leased vehicles. Advises manager and terminal supervision regarding estimated equipment down time, and assists Terminal Managers in securing alternate equipment plans. Develops an annual plan for new lift equipment and commercial vehicle acquisition. Assists in the development and planning for lift equipment best supporting terminal operations and the annual budget for lift maintenance/repair/replacement. Evaluates and audits maintenance vendors performance and compliance. Inputs and approves invoices for lift maintenance. Assists in training programs development for vendors and company personnel that have impact on lift maintenance performance. Assists in recommending the number, type, and specifications of new and used equipment to be acquired for intermodal operations. Develops disposal plans and methods for end of life cycle equipment. Assists in new facility planning to integrate equipment types with terminal requirements. Develops and maintains a maintenance management system for all lift equipment and vehicles assigned to CSX Intermodal Terminals.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
•Provide oversight of vendors and suppliers at 34 intermodal terminals.
•Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with terminal management teams.
•Provide leadership of maintenance and invoice activities related to lift equipment and vehicles.
•Develop Statements of Work (SOWs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to solicit and select vendor maintenance teams.
•Conduct trend analysis and detailed financial analysis of lift /vehicles maintenance expenditures.
•Develop Request for Quotes (RFQs) for acquisition of new lift machines and vehicles.
•Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required
•3 or more years of experience required in Lift or Transportation Equipment Maintenance/Acquisition
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to meeting the above qualifications, any of the following are preferred:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Business Administration, or Finance
•Port or Terminal experience
Knowledge and Skills:
•Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance scheduling, tracking, and performance
•Ability to create SOWs and RFPs
•Knowledge of financial budget execution processes include invoice submission and payment via corporate systems such as Oracle Financials
•Project management and task management skills
•Ability to communicate and collaborate across a wide spectrum of stakeholders
•Knowledge of United States and international design standards as they relate to lift equipment
•Basic knowledge of contracting/contract administration
•Microsoft Office skills
•Knowledge of lift equipment and vehicle types
•Ability to work within a team to achieve defined performance and financial goals

Job Requirements:
•25% travel required.
•Wear protective equipment such as welding shields, hard hat, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, work boots, safety vest, face shield and safety glasses.
•Work hours include rotating on-call responsibilities which may be on weekends or outside standard working hours.
•Willing and able to work different shifts as assigned in a 24 hour/7 days a week operation (including working weekends and holidays).
•The applicant selected for this position may be required to successfully complete a background check and drug test. Passing results must be received prior to start date in new position.
Environmental Conditions:
•Work inside an office environment.
•Work outside in all weather conditions.
•Work at elevated heights, in certain instances in excess of 100 feet.
•Work with equipment that intensifies the heat factor.
•Work with hazardous materials on an occasional basis.
