Job Description Position Title: Manager Engineering Contract Services Department: Purchasing Reports To: General director International Purchasing Individual Contributor or Supervisor: Individual Contributor FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Kansas City, MO POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for sourcing and negotiating material and service contracts for the Engineering department primarily in the U.S. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field required Experience: 3 years experience in supply chain or related field required Railroad experience or equivalent Materials/Services experience preferred Experience working with the Engineering function is preferred Skills: Strong planning, organizational, and coordination skills with high attention to detail Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation skills; bilingual preferred Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship building skills at all levels Proficient in MS Office suite including Project, Access and Visio; SAP and/or ERP experience in procurement model preferred Job Duties: •Responsible for sourcing and negotiating material and service contracts for the Engineering department primarily in the U.S. •Manage the request for proposal (RFP) process from vendors as well as conduct bid result analysis, and final vendor selection recommendations. •Negotiate in partnership with Legal the final contract or master service agreement (MSA) and associated pricing and terms and conditions of material and service contracts. •Routinely delivers formal presentations of proposals to senior management. •Manage regular interaction with internal and external customers and contractors and the senior management team regarding status of service and material contracts •Emphasis on reviewing or modifying processes and measuring and monitoring performance of the General and Administrative purchasing function.
