Job Description

Department & how it relates to the role

Network Rail CTRL operate and maintain the infrastructure of the only High Speed railway (HS1) in the UK, which operates between St Pancras Station and Eurotunnel.

The Electrification and Plant (E&P)team are responsble for all electro-mechanical systems on HS1. M&E operate as a section of E&P and are responsible for systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire detection and supression, pumping and drainage.

About the role (External)

Calling on your experience of maintaining and installing electrical and mechanical equipment along with inspection and fault diagnosis skills, your role will be challenging and varied as you carry out maintenance on the CTRL infrastructure throughout London and Kent.

Duties include:

Undertaking maintenance and fault rectification of Mechanical and Electrical equipment installed on CTRL, whilst ensuring that the work is carried out in the safest possible manner and to the highest quality, including but not limited to the following associated roles:.

· M&E Inspection
· M&E Installation of new equipment
· M&E On-call responsibility
· M&E Fault Rectification
· M&E Incident Response
· Completion of Electrical Testing and Inspection Documentation
· Site Management of M&E Inspection, Fault Rectification and Installation
· Completion of Maintenance Work Orders
· Undertake Isolations of M&E Equipment and Issue ‘Permits to Work’
· Provide M&E Support For Other Engineering Disciplines
· Carry out maintenance in compliance with relevant NR (CTRL) standards, procedures and policies.
· Join existing M&E on-call roster
· Drive company vehicles as required
· Carry out any other duties as required to ensure the safe operation of CTRL.

Essential

· Time served Electrical and/or Mechanical apprenticeship
· Full UK Driving Licence
· Electrical and/or Mechanical City and Guilds qualification.
· Competence in Mechanical and Electrical systems.
· Experience in the maintenance and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment.
· Knowledge of safety systems in connection with installation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Desirable

· ONC Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering
· Experience within the rail industry
