Job Description
Position Description: This position works directly with Tier 1 North American automotive suppliers and is responsible for jointly reviewing the supplier’s current inbound component parts and outbound finished goods logistics network and packaging to identify cost reduction opportunities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Analyze transportation routes including inbound international routes and routes within North America (ocean, rail, direct truck load, milk runs and consolidation centers). 2. Review packing improvement opportunities and repack operations. 3. Review non value added warehouse operations including pass through parts which are candidates for direct ship opportunities. Experience Required: This is not a trainee position and the candidate must have five (5) years experience in manufacturing logistics network design, route cost analysis, carrier negotiations and packaging design analysis. Qualifications Required: 1. College degree in logistics, supply chain, engineering or other quantitative discipline. 2. Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications. Foreign language skills desirable in particular Spanish
