Job Description
Tasks SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Must provide food and beverage service in a designated area of the train and have knowledge of the menu. Ensure that excellent service and pleasant dining is affordable to all guests. All food must be presented according to Amtrak standards. May be responsible to supervise other food servers and kitchen staff when assigned to the dining car. Should ensure that assigned car is fully provisioned to meet anticipated requirements of the trip and that all equipment is clean and operable. Must stock train at departure and strip all revenue and support items at the end point. The LSA will complete a Trip Sales Report and remit all collected revenues at the end of the trip. They are responsible for all shortages or loss of funds assigned to them. Candidates are required to wear a company provided uniform. Must be well groomed and professional when dealing with guest and co-workers and expected to model the highest levels of behavior and integrity. The position requires 100% travel. EDUCATION: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in bookkeeping/inventory control is helpful. Requirements WORK EXPERIENCE: Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years experience in restaurant management, including headwaiter, bartender and restaurant management. COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have an excellent command of the English language and be able to communicate with passengers and co-workers. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Prior supervisory experience is required (8-10 employees) TRAVEL: Yes (100%)
