Job Description
Department & how it relates to the role Government and Corporate Affairs (G&CA) is responsible for the professional and consistent management of all internal and external stakeholder relationships in order to deliver an improved reputation for Network Rail. This includes communication with all employees, national and local government, the media, external liaison with our line side neighbours and Network Rail’s members. The function is also responsible for managing the brand and visual image of Network Rail. The teams within G&CA work to develop trust and understanding with stakeholders, using effective channels of communications to build positive relationships. About the role (External) You’ll be creating diverse and engaging communications for a large, high profile company with a diverse workforce. Reporting to our Head of Internal Communications, you’ll own and develop our current (and new) internal channels. Planning and alignment of communications is a key responsibility. You’ll manage a small team of writers and be responsible for their work, so a background in planning and creating quality content in a corporate environment would be an advantage – but your main focus will be on helping to shape and deliver our communications strategy through our channels. You will provide advice to the wider corporate team about communicating with our 37000 employees across Britain, especially on issues around change and transformation. You will need to be able to build relationships and work confidently and effectively with people at all levels… and use your understanding of audiences to produce creative, engaging and effective content. The job is based in King’s Cross, London.
