We are looking for Brakes Engineer for our Passengers, facility based in Derby Your Role You will advise on all aspects of brake equipment and provide a knowledgeable interface to the brake suppliers. Ideally you will have gained experience in Brake systems and technical deign within a similar industry. Applications from engineering graduates with some exposure to Brake systems and technical design will also be considered. Your Challenges · Drive the Bombardier standardisation and cost reduction process for brake equipment · The compilation of brake equipment specifications, develop supplier capability and evaluate supplier technical offers · Provide advice on relevant International, European and UK friction brake standards · Take an active part in brake equipment homologation activities · Coordinate service failure investigations and ensure the most effective solution to the problem is implemented Decisions made by Brakes Engineer include: · Decisions on requirements for the system · Decisions on the system design · Decisions on acceptance criteria Qualifications Your Experience and Qualifications · Ideally you will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline. · You will have extensive knowledge of brake systems · Experience in the design phase will be an advantage but not essential · Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential · You will have excellent problem solving ability coupled with good organisational skills · You will be self motivated with an enthusiastic approach
