Job Description

Role & Responsibilities;

- Liaising with; Client, Suppliers, Sub Contractors, Internal Departments, Regulatory Bodies and Members of the Local Community, Other persons as necessary to achieve contract objectives.
- The Electrical Engineering element of assigned contract works are successfully delivered
- The role will also require input assisting the Contracts Manager, at tender stage with cost, technical and programme input

- Direct site supervision of electrical works to include but not limited to the installation, testing and commissioning of:
HV Switchgear (up to and including 33kV), Transformers (primary voltage up to and including 33kV), Protection systems (up to 132kV), & PLC based control and SCADA systems.

- Site supervision of civil, structural and mechanical works associated with the above.
- The contract within programme and budget
- Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.
- The promotion of a continuous improvement culture and the use of best practice.
- The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
- Formal reports on contract progress to the Project Manager.
- Ensuring that all relevant issues, which cannot be resolved at contract level, are passed to the Project Manager.


Person spec;

Must have experience of successfully managing a multi project electrical engineering team and should meet the following criteria:
- Extensive experience of working with electrical supply and control systems, preferably on projects within the electrical supply an/or generation industry.

- Previous Authorised Person appointments as detailed below would be a distinct advantage: Work on isolated equipment (WI-1), Work on or near to live equipment (WL-1), Receive & clear permits (SR-3), Standby duty (SB-1), Independent entry into live substations (EN-1).

- Understand electrical design development and procurement
- Able to manage multiple schemes, from conception to final accounts.
- Must possess supervisory experience
- Recent client-base experience (eg able to develop relationships with clients, suppliers and designers)
- IT Literate, particularly in Microsoft Office Applications.
- National Safety Passport
- Five Day Site Managers Safety Training
- NEBOSH
