Job Description
The Role: The successful Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, detailing and producing technical drawings for the successful approval of rail electrical installations. The key projects you will work on include installations for Thameslink, FTN and a variety of re-signalling and level crossing works. Key Duties: - General measurement surveys of sites and proposing likely works to the construction team. - Conducting outline design and detailing of rail electrical infrastructure. - Producing detail specifications and calculations for power upgrades, lighting schemes. - Liaising with AutoCAD technicians in the production of drawings. - Maintaining a full understanding of commercial aspects of the project. - Line managing an Engineer and CAD Technician. Experience / Qualifications Needed: - Experience in the design and detail of electrical solutions - A degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) would be a distinct advantage to your application, as would Chartered Membership of a professional engineering institution - but these arent essential. - Previous experience working either on the Thameslink or FTN project
