Job Description
We are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Rail team. In this role you will be responsible for designing, detailing and producing technical drawings for the successful approval of rail electrical installations. The key projects you will work on include installations for Thameslink, FTN and a variety of re-signalling and level crossing works. As an Electrical Design Engineer your key duties will include: * general measurement surveys of sites and proposing likely works to the construction team * conducting outline design and detailing of rail electrical infrastructure * producing detail specifications and calculations for power upgrades, lighting schemes * liaising with AutoCAD technicians in the production of drawings * maintaining a full understanding of commercial aspects of the project * line managing an Engineer and CAD Technician To succeed in this position you must be an Electrical Engineer with experience in the design and detail of electrical solutions. You should also be a first class communicator with excellent attention to detail, and a professional outlook. A degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) would be a distinct advantage to your application, as would Chartered Membership of a professional engineering institution - but these aren’t essential.
