We are looking for Electrical and Mechanical Installation (E3 / CATIA) Engineers to join our Rolling Stocks UK facility based in Derby


Job Specification

You will have the ability to read electrical schematics, interrogate Catia V4 DMUs & drawings, as well as providing the technical electrical lead to the Electrical and Mechanical Installation Designers across our engineering teams.

In addition you will liaise with project electrical engineers and other specialists to ensure the harness installations comply with all electrical requirements and guidelines.

You will also liaise with other engineering functions to ensure a fully integrated, safe and compliant design. As part of the design process you will ensure the companys commercial interests are not compromised. You will also include providing technical support and solutions to the Production Line, Procurement, Quality, and Suppliers & Test as required.

Key accountabilities include:

· Prepare 3D models/drawings/formboards
· Providing technical support
· Design validation (including design reviews)
· Attending First Article Inspections
· Investigate production/manufacturing/service problems and provide the optimum solutions



Qualifications

Ideally you will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering. You will have extensive knowledge of wiring practices preferably gained within the rolling stock industry. You will apply your experience to produce programs and macros to maximise efficiency of labour intensive tasks. You will have good communication skills and be able to communicate with internal and external customers at all levels. You will be analytical and have good problem solving skills as well as good organisational skills. It is also important to be self motivated with an enthusiastic approach.

You may be in involved in depot site visits to support modification programmes - so ideally you will be able to demonstrate some prior knowledge of the UK Rail Industry, including knowledge of depot operations, railway operation and safety rules and regulations (including LUL and Railway Group Standards). Experience of fault finding and commissioning (including how things can fail) would be beneficial.

Good communication skills are essential. You will also demonstrate your ability to focus on allocated tasks. Problem solving abilities and having good organisational skills is essential. It is also important to be self motivated with an enthusiastic approach.
