Based at either our global headquarters in Berlin, our Corporate Financial Services function in Zürich, or at our UK site in Derby, we are currently looking to recruit our:


Director Structured Finance - EMEA Region (m/f)
Berlin, Germany; Zürich, Switzerland or Derby, UK




Your Role



The successful candidate for this role will be a highly motivated, numerate and multi-skilled member of the senior management team, working within Structured Finance and alongside Bombardier Transportations (BT) Sales & Project Management areas, to manage the financial requirements of given projects from the pre-bid stage until financial closing.


With regards to projects being pursued by BT, this will involve the ability to deliver competitive finance proposals of exceptional quality - both well presented and easy to evaluate. Generally speaking, these projects require a wide variety of potential finance solutions. Experience with PPP and concession-type projects is highly beneficial.




Your Challenges

Developing in-depth market knowledge of the transportation sector, focusing on financing strategies and financing tools
Preparing financial pre-feasibility assessments to be followed on a case by case basis via the development of a more detailed project finance model, lease model, credit analysis and project risks analysis. To the extent required, this includes collating the various inputs to the financial model and conforming them to the schedule and the commercial terms and modeling and optimizing the project-wide payment regime
Review tender documents, evaluate financing requirements and prepare compliant financing proposals with the aim of developing competitive advantages for the benefit of Bombardier clients in the context of international call for tenders or unsolicited proposals. This also includes a risk assessment evaluation, quantification and the development of financing programs to enhance marketability of assets
Draft White and Blue Book (BT governance process) sections on financing to outline financing strategy in support of sales effort. Participate in White & Blue Book reviews to present financing strategy to management
Ensure compliance with internal guidelines
Coordinate work of internal and external specialists in the field of accounting/tax, legal, technical, financial and commercial, review and challenge their opinions if applicable
Evaluation and negotiation stage: prepare presentation for internal and external reviews; negotiate loan agreements, concession agreements, commercial documentation, lease agreements, project finance agreements etc.
Prepare monthly activity report and/or other internal reporting documents

Key internal contacts for this role will include members of the BT Sales, Contracts, Finance, Tax, Treasury and Accounting teams. External partners will include Commercial Banks, ECAs, Multilateral Development Banks and Insurance Companies.


Qualifications

Your Experience and Qualifications


For this role, the successful candidate should offer the following:

A university degree in Economics (or Law), plus an MBA or CFA ideally
5 years (minimum) relevant international professional experience, if possible within a large multinational corporation or financial institution at a management level
Strong financial structuring skills
Self controlled, initiative taking, achievement oriented, a team player
Negotiation and problem solving skills
Able to work on complex projects involving legal, financial, accounting, tax, ownership related & technical issues (etc.)
Prepared to travel globally (incl. Asia)
Excellent communication skills in at least two European languages (English is a prerequisite, fluency in both French and German is highly advantageous)
