Job Description
Experience Rolling Stock Engineers required with prior experience of carrying out bogie and / or engine overhauls & exams on diesel passenger or locomotive rolling stock. 3 - 6 Month Contract - IMMEDIATE START ! £18 p/h (50 - 60 hrs per week - DAYS) Diesel Rolling Stock Technician - March (Cambridge) & Leicester Role Description: Successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking service examinations, fault finding and repair tasks on our clients fleet of modern locomotives. The work will consist of PPM and repair to diesel engines including heavy strip down and rebuild of cylinder heads, pistons, liners, charge air systems, oil coolers, fuel injectors & load control systems. Also you will be responsible for fault diagnostic & testing on air, fuel & oil systems identifying problems with the inlet and exhausts. You will also carry out maintenance to electric traction systems which includes heavy repairs to bogies, DC traction motors and air brake systems. The PPM of the locomotive will range from daily service checks to major exams, engine strip down and component renewal. Required Experience: For this role it is essential that you have previous experience within a maintenance role working on class 66, 47 or 58 diesel locomotives or diesel passenger stock (DMU) and in addition to this, you will be a fully trained Mechanical / Electrical Apprentice - ideally from a British Rail background or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
