The Asset Management Transformation Programme is a major initiative that has been established to help Network Rail deliver its CP4 outputs in a sustainable way for the level of funds available. The programme comprises nine major projects which together will deliver approximately £1.3bn benefits during CP4. The major focus of the programme is to specifiy the optimum maintenance and renewal regimes at the lowest whole life cost.

Brief Vacancy Description

The purpose of the role is to support the development of Route Asset Management Plans (AMPs). The role will involve specifying information requirements, supporting the development of asset policies, developing and applying decision support tools and supporting the production of maintenance and renewal workbanks.

Detailed External Job Description

· Support the design and content of route level asset management plans, including benchmarking against other asset management organisations, definition of asset information requirements and the production of guidance documentation and/or standards.

· Support the production of route level asset management plans, working with Planning to agree route level targets. Collate route and asset information from Planning, O&CS and all Asset Management teams.

· Support the audit of route asset management plans against defined quality metrics.

· Provide a point of contact for all stakeholders of route asset management plans and agree with Planning nationally consistent advice and guidance to all Asset Management teams for the production of workbanks and supporting justifications for inclusion in corporate plans.

· Review the cross-asset alignment of route asset management plans, identify synergies and work with Route Asset Managers to resolve conflicts.

· Support the optimisation of route asset management plans to maximise achievement of output targets.

· Coordinate forums between Asset Heads to share asset management best practice and identify areas for improvement.
