Job Description Our client is currently looking for a Commissioning Manager to join their successful Rail Business as a functional head based in London. Job Purpose: To manage the design development for Tender Documentation in line with the Project requirements and Manage the development of designs through project life cycle Ensuring Company and Client?s requirements are unbiased, robust and optimally designed, initiate and manage design reviews through allocation of suitably competent engineers to act as reviewers, Contractor Responsible Engineers or Accredited To coordinate the design works and ensure it meets all relevant criteria such as:- Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, CDM, Company policies and procedures, Client?s requirements Provide value best practice Delivery in line with the Programme. requirements EMC directive compliance, TSI compliance, Local authority planning compliance, Compliance with Health and Safety requirements Compliance with CDM Regulations requirements Compliance with relevant company policies and procedures etc. The above includes preparation of required documents and procedures, their implementation and chairing meetings with all relevant internal and external parties. Developing Special tests and test procedures to achieve the above as part of the scope. Ensuring close liaison with Testing and Commissioning Manager. Principal Accountabilities: The main duties of the Design Manager ? Central Design Team are: Preparation of procedures in line with policies To ensure compliance with the Client Specification and other requirements To ensure that the detailed design achieves desired functionality and performance To ensure the design requirements of projects are fully met To ensure the design team resources are adequate, competent and efficient in their tasks Engineering Process must allow for these main objectives to be continually monitored through regular meetings, reviews of requirements, procedures etc. Further duties include: Directly providing specialist engineering/design advice as may be relevant or appropriate. Ensuring that all design submissions have been properly reviewed by the relevant Contractors Responsible Engineers. Providing assistance to the Design Interface Managers with the determination of the scope and valuation of works packages. Providing assistance to the Design Interface Managers with the identification and development of technical options to meet the Client requirements. In conjunction with the Chief Engineer, develop any Procedures required to undertake the Design functions outlined above. Knowledge, skills qualifications and experience Detailed understanding of DC and AC electrification system Professional electrical engineer
