Job Description
Tasks Must have proven experience in purchasing or material planning or related fields. Must possess basic knowledge in commodity pricing, market trends, product availability, quality standards, sources of supply, negotiation techniques, value analysis and other cost savings methods. Must be self-starter with initiative, good analytical skills and common sense approach to problem solving. Satisfactory work experience. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities. Candidates must have strong oral and written skills sufficient to interact with technical and legal staffs to qualify new vendors, vendor-specification conflicts Requirements and finalize contracts. Must have bachelors degree in business administration or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Preferred extensive knowledge of commodity and market expert and extensive supplier management skills. Prefer extensive project management experience. Preferred Education: Prefer Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other professional certification. Travel: Yes
