Job Description Our client is currently looking for a Commissioning Manager to join their successful Rail Business as a functional head based in London. Job Purpose: The function of the testing and commissioning part of the Engineering process is to ensure that through the developed processes the components of and the completed system meet the requirements of the specifications and correct functionality of the design. It is the function of the testing and commissioning to develop inspection & test plans and procedures (including the contractors), develop interface and integration tests, strategies and any other requirements with the Client and their contractors, witness and assist with the tests, checks and inspections and ensure that all errors or omissions are reported through the appropriate process and documentation systems to the project design team. The Commissioning Manager will coordinate this work and ensure it meets all company policies and procedures, meets the Client?s requirements and it is delivered to the Programme. This process is achieved by preparation of required documents and procedures, their implementation and via meetings with all relevant internal and external parties Principal Accountabilities: The main duties of the Commissioning Manager are: Preparation of procedures in line with policies To set the standards for testing and commissioning activities To manage, in liaison with Engineering Managers, all testing and commissioning works including interfaces with Client and other contractors on site; Commissioning Manager sets the standard, Engineering Manager implements it and plans it To liaise with the Central Design team To ensure the commissioning team resources are adequate, competent and efficient in their tasks Engineering Process must allow for these main objectives to be continually monitored through regular meetings, reviews of requirements, procedures etc. Knowledge, skills qualifications and experience Detailed understanding of DC and AC electrification system Professional electrical engineer Proven ability to manage engineering staff Good communication and organisational skills Knowledge of Network Rail and LUL standards Detailed understanding of Rail Industry operation Detailed understanding of CDM Understanding of safety, quality and environmental issues relevant to the railway environment Self starting Reliable Responsible outlook Professional approach CDI AndersElite ltd operates as both an employment agency and employment business.
