Job Description
A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required by our client to operate from an office in Shropshire managing the commercial aspects of a regional contractor with visits to sites in the local area A position is available for a quantity surveyor to assist with and/or manage the following duties -Produce cost allowable for each project. -Manage subcontract appointments in accordance with a procurement schedule and appoint subcontractors. -Set up and manage cost control meetings and valuation meetings and provide project cost feedback. -Manage project valuations and subcontractor payments. -Produce materials schedules and allowable for project purchasing. -Manage accounting reconciliation for materials purchased. This role will ideally suit an individual seeking a long term work commitment to the Shropshire area. As our client has excellent growth potential they are very keen that this appointment is a long term move for both parties. The successful candidate will report to the Director. The Company Our client is a well established specialist regional contractor and they operate on projects as both contractor and sub-contractor. They work on a range of projects with both civils and construction and their contracts are currently new build structure constructions, as well as existing repair and maintenance works. So, what are they looking for? - Shropshire based - The ideal candidate will be a quantity surveyor with a minimum of 5 years commercial experience, ideally post grad experience - Contractor background - Our client is happy to consider any sector experience whether it be construction, civil engineering or rail - The candidate should be computer literate, organised and able to communicate at many levels. - This position will suite a person who enjoys a variety of commercial tasks, is a self starter, and is seeking to grow with a company and secure a long term growth and future.
