Job Description
Job Description Our client, a leading contractor working within the rail industry is seeking to employ a Civil Design Engineer to be based in their York office working within their Design Team. You will be responsible for taking a lead role in the development of Design Projects for the company, and will be a team leader on site inspections and surveys as required for the completion of rail projects. You will be responsible for the day to day workload of engineers and Technicians within the Design Department, in line with the Design Manager, and will assume the role of Design Manager in his absence. You will have extensive experience in the Design of Civil Engineering structures, as well as experience in the Design and Assessment Railway Structures, ideally bridges and stations structures. You will also have detailed knowledge of Network Rail company and line standards, and understand the importance of customer satisfaction. It is also important that you will be fully competent and have experience in the production of construction related drawings, and will have the ability to instruct others in producing unambiguous working drawings to a high standard. You will be degree qualified in civil engineering or equivalent, ideally MICE or working towards with a stable career background.
