We are currently seeking a Buyer to be based in London, UK Your Role Buyers are responsible for the materials cost performance for their area of responsibility (range of products or supply base) through effectively managing and reducing the ‘Total At Completion costs’, design to cost and total cost of ownership, as well as the relationships with suppliers and ensuring that supplier contract obligations are fulfilled. You will ensure the availability of components required for ongoing maintenance work through supplier review meetings and working with other internal functions in order to predict requirements. You will also be responsible for cost performance against budget and targets including targeted reductions of 30%+ over the project duration. Your Challenges Supply Contract Management • Development of contractual coverage of non-committed suppliers via established methods, management & adherence of existing contracted suppliers Key Performance Indicators etc., SRM via methods such as Quarterly business reviews etc. Management of Project Costs & Risk Ensuring procurement costs are below the Total At Completion Costs, production of monthly cost reporting, instigation & delivery of potential cost reduction opportunities via the procurement governance program. Management of risk ensuring actions are taken so possible supply chain risks are highlighted and acted upon in a timely manner to mitigate potential cost and delivery issues for the project. Manage Procurement Process Undertaking purchase order placement, material expediting in line with project deliveries, supporting potential new company bids via Requests for Qualification etc. The production of reports i.e. monthly SOFT report, supplier reviews minutes. Business Relationship The representation of Supply Chain Management in various internal cross-functional meetings including project and engineering reviews etc. Qualifications Your Experience and Qualifications The successful candidates will ideally have significant demonstrable procurement experience preferably in a services type organization, within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Contract knowledge i.e. creation & management and enforcement of supply agreements. Proven supplier relationship management skills CIPS qualified would be a benefit, although we would be able to support successful candidates with ongoing study in this area Strong experience in working closely with senior stakeholders (either internally or externally) is essential. Previous experience in implementing cost savings and in improving efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function.
