Job Description
Department & how it relates to the role Network Rail’s Competence and Training organisation delivers an effective competence and development service in order to continuously improve safety, performance, engagement and esteem. Competence and Training strives to capture the routine business and forward plan emerging requirements to ensure Network Rail meets its operational requirements and workforce development remit, deliver the training needed to meet Network Rails Competency Framework Requirements, and invest in our people and resources to ensure quality is inherent from the start in our service and products. About the role (External) We are looking for a high calibre individual coming from a procurement background to come in and manage a large budget business plan. As the Business Support Manager for the Competence and Training department, you will provide centralised and consistent financial management, business planning, risk management and reporting across the department. You will also provide centralised guidance, development and direction in the procurement of training providers, including sourcing and negotiation in supply contracts for all areas of Competence and Training to realise value for money benefits. Do you have…..? · Proven management accounting experience? · Extensive experience in procurement and the negotiation of contracts? · Experience of creating, implementing and managing financial controls for operational and capital expenditure? · Excellent client management, negotiating and influencing skills? Are you…..? · Able to produce annual business plans taking into account the needs of a wide variety of senior stakeholders? · Able to develop consistent and robust risk management processes? · Comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders, ensuring that budgets are being kept to whilst maintaining excellent levels of customer service?
