DB Schenker Rail needs apprentices

DB Schenker Rail (UK) is seeking 13 management apprentices from across the UK to train to become operational and engineering rail freight leaders of the future.

Aligned to national priorities to encourage modal shift from road to rail, DB Schenker Rail’s growth plans in the UK will be delivered by the rail freight leaders trained through this apprenticeship scheme.

Successful applicants will be supplied with a full training programme, which lasts two years for Assistant Production Manager apprenticeships and three years for Operational Management Trainee and Engineering Management apprenticeships.

At the end of the training programme, the apprentices will become permanently employed as managers at DB Schenker Rail.

The locations where apprentices are sought for are: Bescot, Eastleigh, Ipswich, Leicester, Margam, Newport, Saltley, Scunthorpe, Stoke, Toton, Warrington and Wigan.

Starting salaries vary between £12,000 and more than £25,000 according to the role, said the company.
